What Are My Treatment Options?

For individuals with Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency (CSID), Sucraid® (sacrosidase) Oral Solution and/or dietary management are the primary treatment options. Once a diagnosis of CSID has been made, you should work with a qualified registered dietitian.

Working with a registered dietitian helps you review dietary restrictions and develop an understanding of food content, food nutrition labels and ingredients, including alternative food and additive names. Unfortunately, most registered dietitians have not worked with many individuals with CSID. However, they should be able to educate you about general nutritional needs and offer guidance for a sucrose-free and/or a low-starch diet, as needed.
